My name is Dr. Jon Sullivan and I am the cofound, president, and Chairman of the board of directors for the Global Relief Association for Crises & Emergencies, Inc. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit based out of Georgia, USA. Our mission is to foster social change by eradicating the vulnerabilities of human trafficking and exploitation. We have been in this work since 2012. Currently, we have programs in Georgia, USA, and Thailand. We work mainly in the field of prevention although we have been involved with several rescues.
I hold a Ph.D. in Human Services: Disaster, Crises & Intervention where my dissertation topic centered around the motivations of volunteers who work in an antitrafficking organization. I am currently involved in research exploring the effectiveness of our organization as well as the connection between the LGBTQIA+ community and trafficking.
The purpose of this podcast is to explore all things trafficking. This involves vulnerabilities, policy, politics, trends, refugees, war, current research, etc. I hope you will enjoy me as I bring you my thoughts and host a variety of guests to raise awareness of this human rights violation.
